Lindas as capas da Vogue Brasil de agosto, mas não passam de uma boa embalagem. Anok Yai e Alton Mason estão deslumbrantes (como sempre) em fotos de Luigi & Iango. Mas a Vogue segue morna e sem uma personalidade que faça da edição brasileira algo realmente relevante para o mundo da moda.
Representatividade negra importa e muito! afinal de contas, o Brasil é o pais mais negro fora da África. Quem diz isso são os próprios brasileiros, 50,7 % da população se autodeclara negra e parda (Censo 2010). 47,7% da população se diz branca. Então, os negros não eram maioria antes de 2010? O que mudou foi a identificação do brasileiro com cor e raça.
Vemos o reflexo desse pensamento na beleza e na moda. O retorno dos cachos, a maior diversidade no mercado da beleza, o maior número de modelos e atrizes negras nas capas de revistas, as marcas com identificação afro, os festivais como Black na Cena, o sistema de cotas nas universidades e a apresentação da MC Sofia e Karol Conká na abertura das Olimpíadas. De fora, o Oscar da Lupita, a eleição de Barack Obama, a força da Michelle, a comoção mundial com a morte de Nelson Mandela. São conquistas do pensamento, da economia, do ativismo digital.
Mas será que ter dois modelos negros na capa mostram realmente que a Vogue é engajada? Não consigo ver nada além de uma bela embalagem, vazia como de costume.
Sem contar que o editorial é cheio de marcas como: Chloé, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Dolce Gabbana e cia internacional. Nada contra as marcas gringas, mas isso as outras edições da Vogue americana, francesa e italiana já mostraram – e muito melhor!
O que há de novo pra Vogue Brasil mostrar? Essa deveria ser a pergunta da equipe. Do jeito que está, não funciona e não gera desejo.
